  1. Lifesaver!

In my neighborhood we lost all power due to an amazingly horrible summer storm with straight line winds. It took me three days to get out due to downed power lines in the yard, across the driveway and street, not to mention the downed trees blocking entire sections of roadways. But when we ventured out and made it across town to the side that wasn’t affected by the storm, we were in search of battery operated items like fans, lights, etc. I already had an oil lantern in preparation of power outages in the winter. But little did I realize in 90+ degree weather how much heat that lantern put off in an already hot house! I went to Gander Mountain in search of fire starter discs but found a display with Luci lights. I took the emergency light, and it was a lifesaver! Talk about wonderful! We had plenty of sun, so it charged quickly. The light it produces is amazing–sharp, clear, and easy to see by in a pitch black neighborhood. I also love how it is perfectly safe for my 2 year old toddler. She would carry it around the house, and I never worried about her tipping it over, burning herself, or starting a fire. I tell everyone now about the Luci lights. I plan on buying one or two for every member of my family for Christmas….. no emergency kit should be without one or more of these!
